Whiskey Bars - Bremner Duthie

Average rating:

A strikingly original, unpredictable story of a singer's final comeback, fueled by countless vodka martinis and Kurt Weill's dark, daring songs. 'Like stumbling upon a veteran performer's diary and getting to flip through the best parts ... Extraordinary' (Winnipeg Sun).

Audience Reviews

Maureen McManus's rating

This is a crative one man 'musical' - where Bremner Duthie, an American-Canadian-European-Scotsman, sings the songs of Kurt Weill in a tightly knit, very well written piece of theatre. His performance of the songs, including the well know Mac the Knife, interpreted with fresh menace, is original and exciting.

Who should go see it.
Lover of Kurt Weill,

and people who appreciate good writing

a solid plot and a satisfying theatrical experience. This begins, and ends with high energy, strong emotions and full-flavour.

muck's rating

There are only 2 or 3 more shows before Bremner goes back to Canada - it is a superb show. Very intense in an intimate venue. If you go, applaud at the end of each song. Our audience didn't.

Who should go see it.
Lovers of theatre and song, but especially Kurt Weill
